There is no way CCP would have made anywhere near what they did with DUST (yes im talking in the past tense, this game is done) if there was tiericide or gear-based matchmaking, they didn't want that. They wanted the puppy dogs to be thrown in with the lions, because then they buy AUR.
People look to players who are far ahead who kick their asses every game and look to boosters as a solution for not being
able to make any ISK.
I can barely make ISK, most people in this game do NOT make ISK.
The new player experience in ANY game CCP make, will be brutal, because of MONEY.
They now realise that DUST has ended, this is the end of the game because people have nothing left to do, they have all
the skill points and ISK in the world, but new players are always new players. As time goes on more people get proto-suits, year on year mercs earn more ISK, but new players are always new players.
That means that DUST became increasingly difficult and will eventually be impossible because EVERYONE apart from a brand new player will be running proto fit after fit with their friends with huge wallets. Then new players would quit, no amount of AUR or booster would help them.
CCP realise this so they had to start again, the same thing will happen, beta test another product (even if the game is broken at launch i GUARANTEE that there will be a fully functional micro-transaction market.
CCP WANT you to get your ass kicked, they WON'T change the NPE, they WON'T introduce tiericide, they want new players to get stomped and stomped until they hand over their money on the false pretence of being able to compete.
DUST was a tunnel with no light at the end, now CCP are digging another way out, and they'll be taking your money with them.
understand this CCP, you have gotten zero pounds and zero pence from me and will never ever see a penny from me.
How many times were posts and threads made by devs regarding the new player experience? what did they all say? that they're focused on it, they're commited to improving the NPE. Some of this was said when they KNEW DUST was dead as Legion was being produced yet they LIED to you to protect their MONEY.
So, do you really want to let CCP dig their other hand into your wallet? or was one enough?
